Pempek is one of the signature dishes from Palembang, made from soft grinded fish meat, starch flour and other ingredients such as eggs, mashed garlic, flavouring, and salt. It’s served with cuko sauce made of chili sauce, palm sugar and tongcai or dried shrimp.
This deep fried dish is a definitely must try! Because of it’s known fame, this culinary delight can be found almost everywhere in Palembang from a restaurant, by the side of the road and traveling vendors.
