Tengkiang or commonly called a rice granary.
In Semende, Muara Enim Each family owns at least one hectare of rice fields and one Tengkiang.
If the rice granaries are mostly located around the yard / yard of the house, then for the Semende people this tengkiang is located in each rice field.
These tengkiangs will be filled with stemmed rice with the appropriate moisture content and will be stored until the next rice harvest is approaching.
Tengkiang floors are usually made of bamboo structures which function so that the stored rice dries quickly, and is not eaten by fleas and rot, so it can last for years.
