Sriwijaya Museum Collection Painting Competition
The South Sumatra Provincial Government through the South Sumatra Provincial Culture and Tourism Office and the Sriwijaya Kingdom Tourism Park (TWKS) UPTD, Gandus, Palembang held a painting competition for the Sriwijaya Museum collection which took place at the UPTD Sriwijaya Kingdom Tourism Park (TWKS) hall, Gandus, Palembang, Wednesday (7/7).
Head of the South Sumatra Culture and Tourism Office, Bp. Aufa Syahrizal in his speech said that the painting competition for the Sriwijaya museum collection was aimed at exploring the potential of young painters in South Sumatra.
“That’s why we start from elementary, middle, high school, college students, and the general public in order to make them start to love and develop their talents, then the theme is painting about objects or collectibles in the museum. Why? so that they will also begin to know more closely about what is in the Sriwijaya museum,” said Aufa.
Head of UPTD Sriwijaya Kingdom Tourism Park Bp. Nur Yasin said that the participants who took part in the painting competition were 91 participants consisting of students, the general public, elementary, middle, high and special schools in the province of South Sumatra.
On that occasion, Mr. Aufa Syahrizal also received a surprise in the form of a painting with a complete picture of his face wearing a Malay costume from the painting artist and jury, Yose Rizal or familiarly called K Yos.
