Al-Qur’an named Al-Akbar is one of the most interesting tourist destinations in Palembang, South Sumatra. Known as the largest and the world’s first wood carvings, the gigantic al-qur’an is made of Palembang’s distinctive carvings with a height of 2 meters and a width of 1.5 meters. The Arabic alphabet is made in yellow colored letters with carved flower motifs applied on the edges that make the Al-Qur’an very visually appealing.
The Al-Quran consists of 630 pages and also completed with the tajweed and dua of Khatmul Quran for beginners. The manufacturing process itself takes a relatively long time, around seven years.
